    Department of learning difficulties

    The personnel of the chair consists of 14 persons.

    The main directions of work at the chair are the following:

    • in-service training of administrators and specialists of special establishments;
    • retraining in defectology of administrators, teachers, educators of special schools, of all types classes, heads, tutors of special pre-school establishments on the basis of higher and secondary pedagogical education (without getting qualification). It was carried out till 2001.
    • retraining of primary school teachers of integrated education in defectology (without getting qualification). It was carried out only in 2001.
    • retraining of specialists of education in defectology with getting certificate and qualification 'Teacher-defectolog'. It is carrying out from 2000.
    • training work on other chairs on problems 'Healthy style of life', 'Correction work with handicapped children'.
    • training of magistracy students;

    Curriculum-development work is focused to support training process with students of the courses
    Scientific work. The personnel of the chair is working out the general theme 'Theory and practice of curriculum-development support of training process in the system of in-service teacher-defectology training'
    Scientific researches are carried out in following directions: It is working out at the chair the general theme 'Theory and practice of scientific-and curriculum -development support of training process in in-service teachers-defectolog training'
    Educational research work of the chair focuses to:

    • modern approaches to estimation of defect's structure of handicapped children;
    • scientific-development support of the process of teaching of handicapped children;
    • problems of medical and psychological diagnostics of deflections at an early stage.

    Publications of the chair:
    • Educational text-books on teaching handcapped children;
    • Educational text-books on in-service teacher defectolog training and retraining on the basis of pedagogical education on defectology.

    Curriculum development work
    • The personnel of the chair annually participate in practical and curriculum-development conferences and seminars on the problems of handicapped children and take part in working out the documents for the Ministry of Education of RB.2
