The object of the department is scientific methodical and informational support of forming educational systems of school, out of school and boarding schools.

The main tasks and functions of the department.

• to participate in working out of state and regional conceptions and programs of development of social and educational work in educational establishments;
• to coordinate and support curriculum-development guidance of subdivisions of social and educational work of in-service training establishments;
• to carry out organization and pedagogical, science and methodical support of the processes of postgraduate education on social and educational work;
• to participate in organization of in-service training of specialists of social and educational work of schools, out of schools and boarding schools;
• to organize the work on improving of professional competence of specialists of social and educational work of schools, out of schools and boarding schools of educational system in inter-course period through seminars, conferences and participation in the work of regional methodical unions;
• to participate in scientific and methodical support of personnel attestation of social pedagogues, pedagogue-organizer, educators of all types of system of education establishments;
• to participate in study and analysis of educational process for its improvement at different levels: republic-district-region- educational establishment;
• to carry out creative interaction with foreign, republican, regional public unions of social and educational work. In the work of the department the following methodical directions are distinguished:
• work with class teachers, deputy heads on educational work, pedagogue-organizers
• work with social pedagogues;
• work with pedagogues of out of school establishments;
• work with educators and deputy heads on educational work of boarding schools
• child protection
• information and analytical work and computer service.

• participate in carrying out of in-service specialists of education courses in the Academy;
• carry out inter-courses methodical work with personnel realizing social and educational work in system of education establishments
• participate in scientific and methodical support of educational personnel attestation, realizing social and educational work in educational establishments. Teacher trainers of the department work out and deliver lectures for different types of educational specialists of system of education.
